After washing up on the shores of Aruba at the age of four, the island became the place where all Karolena's hyper, restless, creative energy started to express itself as doodles on bits of paper, on her bed-sheets, walls and any other flat surfaces that she could find.

No matter where she is wandering across the globe, she always finds her way back home to Aruba.

 

Karolena is an art-school drop-out. She has previously worked as a zookeeper (warden at the animal prison) at several zoos around the world where she would cuddle camels in snow storms, wrestle alligators into wheelbarrows, get trapped in giraffe houses, charged by angry yaks, capture escaped monkeys and brush pygmy hippo teeth.
